        Frequently Asked Questions

      • Where are you located?

We are based in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

How do I get my kitten?

Local pickup in Louisville is free, and we meet buyers at a nearby store for convenience and safety. For families who prefer delivery, we offer a personal courier service provided by a trusted family friend who is also a veterinary technician. He transports your kitten directly from our home to yours, door-to-door. His fee varies by distance and is not included in your kitten’s purchase price. We no longer offer airport meetups or airline cargo. Personal, hand-to-hand delivery is the only method we use, ensuring a safe and calm transition for each kitten.

        Are your kittens registered?

Yes. Every kitten is an authentic CFA-registered Persian, meaning you’re receiving a documented, purebred Persian—not a mixed or mislabeled kitten.

How do I reserve a kitten?

We do not take deposits or reserve kittens. Kittens are purchased directly through our website. A kitten can only be purchased once. If someone completes checkout on a kitten, our site will say out of stock. The person who pays for the kitten first gets it.

Do you offer a health guarantee?

Yes. Every kitten comes with a health guarantee. You may read our entire sales agreement at www.teacuppersians.com/agreement

Can I visit your home and pick out a kitten before purchasing one?

I no longer allow potential kitten buyers to visit my home. Many small breeders have made the same choice over the years, especially after incidents like the Paul Peavey case reminded us how important it is to protect ourselves. I’m happy to answer questions and provide plenty of photos and videos of the kittens so you can get to know your kitten from afar. If my safety policy doesn’t fit what you’re looking for, I understand completely.

How do I know you're a genuine Teacup Persian breeder?

Any breeder can show adorable babies, but true teacup size can only be proven through the fully grown parents. Breeders of authentic Teacup Persians share clear photos of adult cats so you can see the real size and structure their lines produce. Ask for measurements, not just weight. Weight alone can be deceiving. Reputable Teacup breeders give length measurements from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, because true Teacup size is about proportion, not just a small number on a scale. Our female Teacup Persians are typically 9-11 inches long from the base of their necks to the base of their tails. Our male Teacup Persians are typically 10-12 inches long from the base of their necks to the base of their tails.

How do I know the size my kitten will be as an adult?

Adult size is never something any responsible breeder can guarantee, not even for ourselves. When we decide to keep a kitten for our own program, we also have to wait and watch as they grow. That said, our largest adult Persian weighs 8 pounds, so we do not expect to produce cats larger than that. Every cat and kitten here is weighed on the first day of each month so families can see their growth pattern in real numbers. While adult size can vary, our monthly weights provide a reliable trail of breadcrumbs showing exactly what to expect as kittens mature.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards. All payments are securely processed online via our website through Square.

I've heard that there is no such thing as a Teacup Persian and Teacup is a scam term.

When people say there is "no such thing as a Teacup Persian" what they mean is that "Teacup Persian" is not an official breed. The CFA registration papers of a Persian will simply say, PERSIAN. The word Teacup is a size descriptor that originated in the dog world. A "Teacup" pet is generally believed to be any pet that is 1/3 the size of a Standard at adulthood. There are even "Teacup" Pigs. Standard Persians weigh about 15 pounds, therefore, a 5 pound Persian is a "Teacup" Persian.

        Are Teacup Persians just runts?

Our Teacups are the result of careful downsizing. If our Teacups were runts, we would only get one Teacup per litter. We get entire litters of Teacups because all of our kittens parents are Teacup sized.

        Why Are They So Expensive?

The high price tag reflects the intensive care required to breed them. Producing healthy, small-statured cats without the health defects common in "runt" breeding takes years of expertise.
